modifying a valve cover on my 750k
« on: April 07, 2010, 01:26:40 PM »
i am putting an adjustable cam sprocket into my 750k tomorrow and i'm wondering, would cutting the curved area under the breather cap that follows the curve of the sprocket would make it easier to adjust the sprocket? those with more knowledge of modifying these monstrosities please feel free to chime in and tell me i'm a moron for considering this or the more likely response that i'm a total freaking genius for thinking of this mod  :D (yeah i'm feeling pretty damned good this afternoon, first pain free day in months and with no meds!)

thanks Alan!  turns out i need new reading glasses too. turns out my plugs are pure white because i have 110's in those carbs, NOT the 122.5's i thought  :P  120's 122's and 125's ordered from bike bandit this evening. they might take longer than my local shop but i am NOT paying 6.95 for EACH jet!

LOL!!! I just got my prescription re-done! Only need glasses for reading. I need to use a magnifying glass, which I keep in my toolbox to read jets! My buddy grabs them, looks, and tells me what size they are. I remeber doing that too, but it was quite some time ago

You are gonna be pretty happy if you needed 120,s and had 110,s in it.. I mean after you get the right jets..

Way back in 75 I had hooker headers on my gold 72, my buddy had Jardines..on a 74.. he was 75 lbs lighter than me and could always just pull a bit on me... :o

Then I changed the needle clip and put 120,s in.. I think it was Wednesday thursday or Friday... I could finally pull away on him.. I was so pleased..  ;D   ;D

Saturday night, we were coming back from a daytrip, , and ran into each other.. I did not know he was coming up behind me and turned in front of him, he was doing about 95 or 100mph.. :o

That was the end of both those 750s... >:(
