This might be anathema but...in the day (of the CL72/77) we used to weld on (and chrome) straight pipes to the curvy, sexy ones on these CL bikes, run them parallel to the back under a nice perfed or slotted heat shield, and then installed Snuff-R-Nots in the ends. The bikes loved it, and it really sounded sweet! Looked great, too!

The 450  bikes that Team Hanson won Daytona with was set up like that. Pretty scrambler-ish except the cans.

I saw several of the pipes that merge at the tips at barber, am I mistaken as to what that was?

My 1966' CL77 came to me from the PO w/ separate pipes and no baffles but they came w/ separate pipes W/ baffles in each pipe plus the chrome one-piece 2into1 canister on the end oem from the factory.
I think it sounded better and responded better w/ all that on there.

white is headlight low, black is hot  and green is ground.  You could just wrap the black, replace one of the white connectors and install proper green end.  I have the set from vintage connections Scott.  If you want I'll put the ends you need into an envelope and sent them out to you....Larry

 Yeah, I knew what the connections were. I have a bunch of old harnesses. I think I can just make a jumper or find the correct bullet for the headlight. I'll wrap the black wires.
 For the ground, I think I'll just run a wire out the back of the bucket and ground it to the frame.

 Rode the '71 CL350 yesterday while running errands. Dropped off the Tiger for new tires. Rode the '73 CL350 around the neighborhood today on its maiden shakedown voyage.
 That just leaves the Sweep the Floor bike.....I'll get it out tomorrow.
