About your baffle. Did you end up wrapping it up with the ceramic wool or did you just slide it back up in there?

I ended up wrapping the baffle with a glass pack.  Quieted it down a bit but feels like it gave me better torque.

Great meeting you yesterday.  Pleasant coincidence that you stopped by Twinline just as I was dropping something off.

Hopefully you'll be comfortable riding the F2 to Winthrop and B'ham.  I'm trying to arrange my schedule so I can tag along.
Take care,
David

Great meeting you also Dave.  Funny that the first time I stop in at Twinline you are there.  It was even better seeing your bike in person.  It is going to be sick!

I really hope to ride the F2 on the ride.  The bike runs real strong (should I reworked everything but the charging system)  I rode again today and all is great but not charging like it should.  I narrowed this down to a faulty strator.  I am ordering a new one tomorrow from Rick's so all should be good.  Funny how I rebuild the entire bike and neglect to check the charging system during the build just taking it for granted.  Build and learn, lol.

Hope the Dyno goes well Saturday, looking forward to the results and HD video.

August 29th is the ride, from Bellingham to Winthrop and back.  Great ride.  I saw Jeff (powdercoater) walking over by my house yesterday.  I should of stopped and said "what's up", but I was working.

Very impressive Tweakin, a super clean great looking project! I'm getting ready to go back into The Beast this fall and bikes like yours offer lots of inspiration.

Where did you get the tail light from? I might have missed this earlier in the thread and if I did, sorry for asking the same questions again. I have one that I added from a R1 but it is pretty big and I have had some issues with license plate clearance. Although if all I have to do after the first few rides is straighten a license plate I think that's pretty good!

I also did the same thing with the wiring. I rewired the entire bike but didn't replace the regulator or rectifier and same deal, those old bits held together for about a month after I got her on the road.

I didn't find this forum until I was hip deep in the first incarnation of The Beast, wish I had because I could have saved some headaches and had a better plan. I have been spending much more time looking around here and getting prepped for the 2nd coming of The Beast next summer. Threads like yours here offer a wealth of information, inspiration, and ideas, big thanks and again the F2 looks great!

Thanks Freaky1.  I picked up the tail light from Speedmoto.  http://www.speedmotoco.com/  But it does not look like they have it in stock any more.  I made a mounting bracket and modified the tail light so it would tuck up under the seat cowl and give me plenty of clearance from the rear tire   The tail light is a LED so it is super bright for all the idiots who don't pay attention to the bikes on the road.  I am looking forward to seeing the second coming of the beast.

Mine is a LED also, fitted it in the stock tail piece behind the seat and it fits good but I'd love to have something smaller but still as bright. My buddy has a 1800VTX and changed his tail light out to a single bullet from an old Caddy. It looks pretty cool but it has a blue dot and I'm just wating for someone to mow him down because they can't see him stop.

I plan to do a build (or rebuild as the case may be) thread because I was into it already when I joined up here.

TWEAK!  I finally was able to watch the videos of your bike running.... MAN!  You did a great job on that exhaust! The baffle sounds like it worked out AWESOME!  If my bike sounded something close to that I'd be SUPER Happy! GREAT JOB DUDE!   XCellent

Thanks HD,  Since the video I wrapped the baffle in glass pack to help with some back pressure.  This gave it a little more mild sound at idle and lower rpm, but screams at higher rpm's.

Thanks!  I picked up the turn signals here ; http://www.speedmotoco.com/

Just search the site for turn signals.  They are the ones with the clear lenses.  I took them apart and powdercoated the bodies gloss black.

HD, you are not missing too much.  Its a short video I took so I could hear the pipes better.  I am still keeping the bike under 5K for break in.

man, what an awesome job!  to be expected from a northwesterner!  where did you pick up that bmw paint for the tank??  That's the color i've been looking for!  Also, i really like what you've done with the front fender mounting.  May I ask where did you pick up that bracket (i'm assuming that's holding the fender in place...) that is hooked up between the shocks?

anyway, great work.  when i'm back up the NW maybe i'll see you out there!

Thanks for the props, I appreciate it.  I get my bike paint from these guys.  They put any auto color into an aerosol for you.

http://www.automotivetouchup.com/choosecolor/buypaint.aspx?year=2009&make=Chevrolet&model=Corvette&colordesc=Victory+Red%2C+74%2C+No%2C+No%2C+*+39339

I am using a Tarozzi fork brace and the stock fender cut down.  I got the fork brace here.

When you are back up in the PNW look me up.

Today I got some 76f (thanks MCRider) hubs coming and I ordered some black anodized Sun rims with SS spokes for my comstar to spoke wheel swap.  I will be powdercoating the hubs gloss black to complete the wheels.

I like the look of the powdercoated black comstars but think spokes will give my bike more of a classic look.
