Well done Mick.  I have not even thought about adding up my receipts for the 750 build up.   I know I need to for insurance purposes but not until my wife is far away.  It is only money and you only live once.

Hi Tweakin, all my stuff for my bikes {almost enough for 3 bikes now} is all in boxes. I only have a small space to build and it is a bit dusty so i don't want to leave half built bikes getting ruined by moisture and dust. I won't start building until i have every part for my K2 as it will be something special. Don't worry, i will do a detailed build thread when i start assembly, one thing i will say now is that this bike will not give me much change from 10 grand, maybe more.......its only money... ;D ;D

I just picked up the billet tappet covers and a mirror from Joker Machine.

Man your bike is gonna be pimped! I really like those tappet covers. You gonna leave them machined or take them in for some powder? Last time I was down you had one mirror from Joker already did you get another?

No powder for the covers.  They have to be wrenched on and off so over time the powder would look like butt.  Only one mirror, trying to keep it simple.

This weekend I got the new to me gl1000 front end and brake rotors tore down with out any problems.  Next is to send them off to powdercoat and then rebuild with some upgraded bits.

Also got my tires mounted up, rotors and sprocket on.  Still need to get the sprocket bolts, thinking of going with some self locking bolts.

Finished the rear wheel swap.  the rear hub off the 76 cb750f (thanks MCRider) worked great.  Just needed to do some slight adjustments to the spacers.

I have the gl1000 front end and brakes completely torn down and ready to go to powdercoat on Monday morning.  I love the look, much better than the comstars, IMO.

Thanks bro.  I wish my wife felt the same way you do, lol.  I can't get any time away to wrench.

Hope you have a good Halloween.

Thanks for the reply, I appreciate it.  Right now I plan on holding onto the comstars, but if I change my mind I will add you to my list of possible purchasers.

Got some more garage time in today.  I added my NOS lockhart oil cooler and adapter from Terry.  I also put an inline manual bypass valve from Jeggs for cold weather riding.

Gl1000 forks and brakes should be back from powdercoat this week so I can get the front end buttoned up this coming weekend.

SUPER sanitary!!!  can't wait to get mine cleaned up and mounted, hopefully it'll look THAT good!!  damn, that's really freggin clean!  why the manual bypass??  won't you have to stop riding to switch it back or will you just bypass it fully in all cold weather?

also, any reason for the rubber line vs a nice stainless braid?  also, what is the cooler bolted to??

Thanks man.  Here in the Seattle area it doesn't get super hot for extended periods of time so I will just use the cooler when I think it is necessary before rides.  No braided lines because I am not a fan of the look.  I have black braided lines from my oil tank and went with black for the cooler so they will blend in.  I wanted a black cooler but could not find a NOS one so I had to go with chrome.  I used the mounting bracket that came with the cooler with some 1&1/8 frame mounts from Jeggs.

http://www.setrabusa.com/jagg/pages/accessories.html

I flipped the mounting bracket upside down to put the cooler higher up above the exhaust.

Looking good, I have been researching oil coolers and I never saw that one. Can't wait to see your forks mounted up. Those spokes will be kick ass.
