what kind of bolt are you using on swing arm pivot bolt? there isn't enough room on mine to add a 1/4 on both sides and have enough threads to safely tighten down the swing arm.

Stock F2 bolt, with the stock foot controls removed. Plenty of room.

from the pictures, it looks like you are utilizing the stock foot control/ lower motor mount bolt (which without the stock foot controls mounted would have plenty of extra room for a bracket) , and the upper bolt on your rear set bracket is what appears to be the swing arm pivot bolt which doesn't have anything mounted on it normally. so I am wondering where you are getting the extra length from on the upper mounting bolt for your rear set mounts.

just curious as my swing arm pivot bolt and all the other CB750's that I have encountered don't have enough length on them to make a bracket like this

Yes I do us the swingarm bolt, but the bike is a 77f so it has a longer swing arm bolt than the 75/76f or K models. See picture below. The 77/78F have a large bracket that hangs off the engine and swingarm mount bolts for foot controls and passenger pegs.

That is convenient on the later Fs. For a dedicated build/conversion, a good machinist could easily turn a new, longer swingarm pivot bolt for those of us who might need it. Hmmm

I like that set up. I got rid of those big aluminum brackets, and had a machine shop shorten and re-thread my swing arm bolt. The rear sets I have bolt around it.

scroggins, those rear sets look good. I thought about using the K rear sets also but when FunJimmy decided to lay down some custom machine work to make new hanger which also allowed us to upgrade to Brembo master I could not pass it up. We also got rid of the old aluminum chunck that was stock but only needed to shorten the engine mount bolt.

Those look real nice. Doesn't it feel good to get rid of those big chunks of metal? Where did you pick up your master cylinder?

great work on a very great bike. I'm new to the place and have found your built to be a great guide to my self and hope to find more. I just picked up a 74 cb750k that is starting to have a new life. I just received some teaser pics from Larry at Meticulous Paint today (Nvr2old) http://meticulouspaint.com/. Tins still need to be polished but I am so happy with the results. I told Larry the color combo I wanted but gave him artistic freedom on the lay out, and I am glad I did. Thanks Larry, you have a gift.

That paint looks amazing! Having followed your build for quite a while the one thing I always liked was the color but the new stuff will really take an already outstanding bike and push it completely over the top. Congrats, I can't wait to see it all on the bike.

Also thanks for the link to the master you used, I have some plans I'm working on in my head for my next project and I had hoped to find masters that I could mount anywhere.
