Yes, I will be taking it to a dyno to dial it in sometime before soon. Just waiting on my tins to get back from paint

Ya I know. I have a bit of OCD.... The first time through I didn't quite build the 836 the way I wanted to (significant head work, crank ect.) so rather than start another project I decided to build this engine. That way I have a pretty sweet 836 in the stand in the garage waiting for my next project.

By the way man, I am in Tacoma aslo (near the University of Puget Sound) If you ever need help with anything look me up.

Slightly off topic but what type of oil cooler are you running. I want to run my lines like your. Right now mine are against the frame, and the cooler is a old Lockhart. How did you mount the cooler to the frame?

The oil cooler is made by Earls and so are the lines and fittings, I think I got it all from Summit racing. It is mounted using 1 1/8 cooler mounts from JEGs and I drew a template and Branden made brackets out of stainless for it. Pretty easy to do. If this doesn't make sense send me a PM and I can get you some more specifics later (traveling for work).

Here is the teaser pic that FunJimmy sent to me and BrandEn of the custom rear set brackets and heel guards he is machining for us. They are so nice! Thanks Jim! The pegs and linkage/ arms are made by Durgam_K and FunJimmy was nice enough to fab up the hangers and guards to fit the F2's

We are using a new brembo master set up and will anodize everything black.

Now I can go to some clip ons and new hand controls with a quick spin throttle.

I'm thinking it is FJ's mad skills that allow him to crank out that kind of thing with a drill press and milling bits with a compound slide setup along with the lathe and probably a jigsaw or bandsaw...
The man knows how to work with metal, it is very clear; clean almost flowing designs and a meticulous attention to details.

tweakin and brandEn are awesome guys that just happen to have two of the nicest CB750’s in the country.
Is it any wonder that I would want to be part of their glory?

I love it and constantly refer back for inspiration on my 1978K project.

Speaking of which, would you happen to have any pics of how the seat is attached, including the upholstery?

I have exactly the same seat from Airtech and am looking at how best to secure & mount.

Rather than re-invent the wheel I thought it might make sense to ask somebody that knows what they are doing

I really do not have any pictures on how the seat is attached. The seat cowl just slides under the back of the gastank in the front, then the rear turn signal hold the back of the cowl to the frame, pretty simple. The actual seat (upholstery) is held on to the cowl by rivets and then snaps across the back.

bwaller did a very nice setup on his race bike http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=83871.0 Very easy to remove, and it holds the front very firm, no movement.

It has been my experience over the years that the small shops are where it's at, very nice!

I was able to mock up the rear set brackets FunJimmy made up for brandEn and myself, Thanks Jim! Still have a bit of sorting to do on the brake side before they are coated but I am stoked! It is great to have rearsets on a F.

Since I now have rearsets I can also go to clip ons. I picked up some Vortex clip ons, MSR clutch perch and new front brake master. Shaved my top tree and had it powdercoated. I also added new updated hand controls and a Venhill Universal 888 Quick Action Throttle kit.

Did you or Fun Jimmy modify the forward shift, errr, for lack of a better word, "actuator"? I ran mine underneath, but the pedal heim-joint standoff fouls on the sidestand spring. (My sidestand had to be relocated slightly forward and outboard to accept the CR750 exhaust.) Care to get me a close-up or two?

Yes David, I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction... You didn't think I was asking all those questions just for research.

I also updated the pictures with a better shot of the linkage. It is a 40mm offset bar from fastfromthepast that I cut down and rethreaded (6mm) to fit.
