Immortal.  thanks for checking out my thread.

Godffey.  Means a lot to me to have your seal of approval man, you have built some amazing bikes.

messeduptriple.   Thanks, this forum and its members have made this build possible.  Some great members here with years of experience and advice.
Wow...I only wish I knew how to tear apart an engine and do a build like that. Great work and awesome bike!!!

Today was a great spring day in the PNW, 60 degrees and no rain in sight.  I was able to break away from the family and get 50 "break in" miles on the 915 build and even got the Harley out for a bit.  I was concerned after having to split the cases to fix the shifting issue but no leaks at all and it ran like a beast.  The absorbant pad under the bike is an old one from the last oil change.

The 915 is a rocket compared to my Harley with  built engine and a hell of a lot more fun... ;D, but the Harley is great around town.

I am looking forward to getting the 78 c750f built up with the 836 so I can compare it to the 915.

Sounds like you had a great day! The 915 just looks so tall compared to the Harley and looks like it wants to go fast. Definitely a "hooligan bike" ;)

Have fun with it! Amazing build.

cheers

Yes Andy the 915 is way taller than the Harley and a total different ride.  I guess thats what makes it fun to still have in the shop.  The difficult thing is remembering when I am on the Harley, it cant lean...  And when on the cb, that it can lean.

That Harley is sweet!  Not a fan of how most of them get customized, but that one looks great.  What model is that?

I registered at this forum because of your build.
your bike is 1 of the cleanest 750's I have ever seen.
I am most impressed by your rearsets and rear brake upgrade,

I am hoping you could put me in contact with the guy who helped you with the brackets and linkage for your rearsets, and if you still remember the part numbers for the brake upgrades.

Tweakin, can you forward me that info too. I'm weighing my options on what to do with the rearsets on my bike. I didn't plan well, so I'm back to square one. What you did on your bike is definitely one of the best looking, and one of the only direct bolt on set ups I've even seen for a 77-78F.

is it me, or does the shaft for the rear master cylinder look like its being stressed?
is the picture not showing it right?

because I'm wondering if there is any binding from the housing being solid mounted, and the brake pedal having a small circular movement when driving the ram into the master cylinder.

Robert there is a bit of an angle from the mounting position, but I can assure you no binding.  The rod is free floating, can be pulled directly out, that is why the spring is next to it to add tension to keep the rod from coming free.  The rod is not connected to but rather just acts to push on the master cylinders plunger... ;)  There is a significant amount of angle to play with.

Sounds gorgeous.... ;) Not bad numbers either mate, i've recently been told that you need someone who really knows the Mikuni's to set them up right but once right, they are the shizzle..... I wonder if Mike Rieck has some input on that..?
