The black wheels look good , did you re-sell your nos pistons and rings to finance the 836?

Thanks for the comments UK Pete. I kept the pistons and rings for now since I know how difficult it is to get them.

I have been working on the body work and getting close to spraying the paint. I am going with a dark Metallic grey (BMW color) with white Honda decals. I am on the fence regarding stripes for this build. I am currently thinking about adding two 3/4 inch stripes in white running the length of the bike as shown in the pic.

Opinions or ideas are welcome. Since the bike is going to be pretty dark I want the white Honda decals and possibly white stripe to break it up.

I think the stripe layout you have will look slick. I'd adjust the stripe width based on the size of the white Honda emblems you get for a good balance. Sounds like you'll be looking old-school with some nice new touches when you're done.

I finished up the clocks last night, polished the controls and drilled then internally wired the bars. I am still not sure if I am going to keep these or add different faces. Now I am going to start on the seat. Since this is the second seat I have re finished I hope this one turns out better than the first.

I know the clocks are reversed....

The weather forecast this weekend was crappy, filled with rain so I decided to lay the paint. My second attempt at a garage paint job with aerosols was a success.

The clearcoat went down smooth over the honda decals, I was concerned about this.

I also refinished my exhaust crowns and had them ceramic coated in cromite. I don't have the facilities to do this so I had a local shop do the work.

Here is a picture of the exhaust crowns. I blasted all the crap and rust off them and then had them treated with ceramic coating chromite.

They will put any base color from a factory vehicle in a spray can, I get my base coat and primer from theses guys. This color is from a 2009 Porsche. Usually takes 2 cans of spray paint at $18 each to shoot a bike, but it is good to have an extra can.

For clear I use: SPRAYMAX 2K GLAMOUR HIGH GLOSS CLEARCOAT SPRAY CAN

My new CR29's came in this week, these carbs are a thing of beauty. Still waiting for the 836 kit from Dynoman so I can complete the engine. I also finished stitching up a seat for the bike. This was my third attempt at making a seat and I feel like I am getting a little better each time.

I was also very unhappy with the quality of of the black vinyl gauge face covers I originally installed so I picked up some new white ones from a guy on ebay. The quality is excellent of the white decals and I think it will help to tie in the white stripes on my tins. I also refinished the gauge needles, painted them the same color grey as the tins and rolled back the milage to zero's.

Soon I will be selling some parts if anyone is interested;
77 750f carbs (completely rebuilt, re jetted, cleaned and polished up a bit)
K&N pod filters for the carbs. (new and in the box)
77 750f pistons (stock bore in excellent cond)
77 750f piston rings NOS (never installed)

Finally the 836 type f pistons from dynoman are here and they look great! All I have left to do is get the cylinders bored and put the rest of the bike together. Man this build is getting so close to being complete. I can't wait to ride this thing this summer.

Cut me some slack man, I started this build the end of February, lol

I keep waiting for updates on the 890 build you have in the works. May 30 was the last post, what gives?

My wife about slapped me when I said I am getting close to the end of this build and thinking of doing a full restore of a 750 next.
Maybe I should wait a year.

I am doing 2 Harley 103cubic inch big bores tomorrow, should be a long day.
