The GL front end is a little stiffer due to 37mm forks vs 35mm on the 750.  Also, the twin discs with an "ultimate" braking upgrade of the Fisheads big brake kit.  I believe the overall width is slightly wider.

Go for it man, I appreciate the good words.  I lived in Chico, CA for a year 3 years ago.  The wife loved it and wants to come back. 

I just might have to steal you paint scheme for my build.... Bike looks great man I'm still at the stages where I need to figure out what gets chopped and welded before it goes to the powder coat guys. I'm guessing the GL1000 front end has more balls than the stock 750 front end? Time do to some homework.

I quite envy the skills (and sometimes sheer balls) that you and many others on this forum have. Then I got hooked on the CB400 you did. I recently picked up a '78 CB400A for the wife and was interested in doing similar changes like yours (definitely not as detailed as yours though). If you could send me a PM about info regarding rearsets, tail sections, air pods, and shocks I'd really appreciate it. Great job on your bikes!!!!

Read your thread with interest initially because of my own work on a '77 CB750K. I think you've done a fantastic job on your bike. They are never done.....  I am already thinking of some other things to do next winter, lol..  top secret...

After 5 weeks of waiting for my shocks to be custom built for me and the bike, they arrived!  Works Pro Racers, I can't wait to try these out with the racetech front end.

This weekend was semi productive on the bike.   I got the shocks mounted up with out a hitch.  I installed the GL1000 preload adjusters that voxonda made up for me and they look and work amazing.  After seeing BWJ's oil line I decided to ditch Carpy's house clamp style lines I am running and have a local shop make me up some proper crimped stainless lines.  Now just waiting for my head to return from A.P.E so I can button everything up and dial in the suspension.

The CCC connection has just been a series of coincidences. I was looking for stainless braid oil lines at Carpy's, but didn't like the hose clamp variety. Looked here and there and found someone on the forum who had crimped ones and it ended up they came from CCC.

On the primary chains I think it was Mark at 3M that first broached the subject. After some follow thru turned out it was CCC that was selling them.

I'd bot some other things off eBay, I needed a new oil tank cap. Did a search and found a chrome locking cap. Turns out it was CCC that was selling it.

A few other things as well. Always been a pleasure to work with.

I had mine made up today.  Took in the originals and they made me a set for $41.  They did it while I waited, took about 20 minutes.

I know the place....sweet.

 did you drop off your originals and they made them up... ?

After I built up the GL front end with racetech springs, emulators and superbrace I knew I needed to upgrade the rear end also.  The rear was significantly lacking compaired to the front in ride quality.  I have always ran Works shocks on my Harley builds so I was confident I wouldn't be dissapointed.

Currently I am only running a 41a cam for know.  I am not really after crazy HP or TQ yet, just ridability, but that could change.  My latest harley started out stock and know is pushing over 110hp and 110tq, lol.

Works Pro-racers and a GL1000 front end... should be a significant improvement.  I just got my works alloy-trackers last month, 1" longer than stock to get my rake and trail where I wanted it.
