I gotta say, they look very nice! I couldn't even get my MotoGP pipe on with the extra "cooler" puck in there and I shaved fins all the way down till they were flush with the filter cup. I went and just pulled the puck, I've got some other plans for hopefully keeping her cool. While I haven't tried yet, I think without the puck I can get the filter off without pulling the pipe, but that might just be me trying to remain positive.

I hear ya, you have to stay positive when working on 30+ year old bikes. We knew going in that the "F" bikes would probably have some fitment issues with these pipes. Although the Yamiya pipe is not stainless or have the smooth bends at the end, it should solve all my problems...

Head came back from A.P.E. today. Complete head job, Stainless valves, HD springs with Ti retainers. Thanks to Jay and the guys at APE for taking the time to make it right! I am going to a hotter cam, megacycle 125-65. Now I have to clay the pistons to check clearance and degree in the cam. Really not looking forward to building the top end just to tear it down again, but will be worth it in the long run to make sure I have no clearance issues with the bigger cam and high compression pistons. I am also really impressed with the VHT engine paint I had on the head. All this work was done to the head and very little touch up is needed.

The bike is almost back together. I tried out the Megacycle cam in my bike but just not enough piston to valve clearance for me to comfortable. I really want this bike to be a reliable rider. So instead I just degreed in my old Webcam and will live with it. First time trying to degree a cam was a treat.

The Yamiya pipe went on like a glove. Although I still like the looks of the MotoGP pipe, this pipe will allow me to run my oil cooler. I should be able to fire it back up tomorrow and sync the carbs and be ready to go.

Don't mind the Yosh badge on the pipe. Figured I would jazz it up a bit.

Did you use the VHT Flameproof paint on the head? Did you shoot it before you sent it to APE or after? It all looks amazing, it has been a real treat to watch it progress all the way to this. The pipe does not look like it kicks up as much in the back like the MotoGP pipe either.

Here is a little video I shot after I put the Yamiya pipe on with the big baffle I love the sound, it's a lot deeper than the other pipe I had before.

Thanks guys. Dave don't worry about the cam. I bought knowing there was a good chance it would not fit. I am going to hold on to it for a second motor I plan on building.
