Been A Heck Of A Day!
« on: April 05, 2010, 07:56:41 PM »

Things were going fairly normal, for a Monday and then...........

(previous input about yesterday: Karla's commode started leaking water badly, between it and the floor. So, I'm thinking that either the thing was just loose and the wax ring is damaged, the base mount bolt(s) have rusted and snapped OR the mount ring in the floor has broken. Well, I go and buy parts to take care of it, no matter what it is.
I finally get the commode ready and lift it off of it's mount and find that apparently the thing has worked loose and damaged the wax ring. SO, I get things taken care of and get it all back together and everything is cool.)
About 11:00Am today, got a call from Bost and Karla is sick and it's coming out both ends! :-\ So, I gather up what is needed and head to Bost. They have a shower there and after her supervisor got the things I brought, she went and helped Karla clean up and after a while, Karla comes out and we head home. So, I'm keeping an eye on her and got her some Sprite and, when I.m feeling good about HER condition, I go out in the front and pull the right wheel off of the GTX and remove the right axle to see what's going on with that (checking on Karla Periodically). The right axle bearing is starting to come apart. Now, I had gotten bearings that were SUPPOSED to be the RIGHT ones. NOT! SO, I call a fellow nearby, who I found out about on EBAY ans got the info I needed to order the right bearings. Did that and they will  be here tomorrow morning, along with inner and outer seals.
Thinks are looking up, right? Wrong! Karla's still doing good and THAT'S Great! Then about 9:15PM, I'm on the phone with Eddie, my buddy here locally, talking about bikes on ebay and such. All of a sudden Karla is coming down the hall telling me, "It's Doing It AGAIN!" ::) :-X  I go to her bathroom and there is water all over the floor and the commode is stopped up this time! :o >:( Now SHE swears she didn't put much paper in it and not much of anything else.
So, I don't know. Sometimes "Not much of anything, to her isn't the SAME to ME!" Anyway, I've tried the plunger several times, I've tried this snake thing that has a curved tube to guide it on into the plumbing
AND, I've got some stuff that is pretty potent and you buy it in a plastic bottle that is sealed in a plastic bag and poured some of THAT in there as well. I may end up at Ace Hardware tomorrow, they have some stuff that I have used before and it will eat that stuff up. It's pretty potent AND has a pretty potent aroma as well! :o It's claimed that IF you use too much in a commode, it can crack the bowl! :o

Will do Jeff. :)  BTW, that "Stinking Commode is STILL stopped up! I think I'm going to get me some new seals for the tank to commode and another new wax ring and take the thing completely apart this time and check it out completely!

I DO need to find out how to adjust how to set the water level in the BOWl of the commode. I KNOW how to do the tank, that is so easy, but the level in the BOWL of the commode, seems a bit high to me. ::)

:-\ I know about having a heck of a day, traveling home from Fla yesterday into today, Well on way home alternator went out, so mom did a cc over phone to get new alternator so we can make it home(at that point still in Fla.) well after 3-4 hours of chasing an alterator and getting it in, we were back on road, THEN we FINALLY  cross into Ga lines, well it pouring down rain and I am in left hand lane and got constrction walls on both sides when my left front tire blows out! people are flying by me at 80+ mph and see's my turn signal so that i can try and get over to put the spare on well James hand to block right hand lane about 300ft ahead since the walls were not there after that point, that and so that I can get over and we can change tire to our donute tire, everthing was going fine we finally get crusing along and we get off at the next town next to us and quicker to get home, well I am so EXUSTED by then that i nodded off for a split secong and I go over a curb and hit a telephone pole, (only dammage to pole was a little piece off wood that came off) needless to say we had to have my car towed home and now its gonna take months to fix since it not drivable and now i gotta go to court and pay for a ticket but yet i have to call that county courthouse to find out how much the fine is. GREAT! I AM NEVER GOING TO FLORIDA AGAIN!! ::) Hope u can get your plumbing issues worked out bill. LOL I guess well all have those days.

Michelle, this Thread should be from your family, not mine! Worse part of mine now, is that I left the commode tank lid off of the tank and Karla accidentally knocked it over and broke it. Brenda had been wanting me to replace that commode anyway. Man, I hate to hear that about all the problems that you all had, on that trip. :-\

Thank you Jeff. Karla seems to have leveled out and is back on track. I appreciate your concern. She's been like "Rock" through most of this. We think the fact that we are coming upon a full year since Brenda's passing, is what is getting to her. For so long, She felt like I did (thinking that Brenda was just off visiting someone and was coming back. She didn't say anything about it for quite a while. And THAT was the way I was thinking for some time (even though I knew Brenda WASN'T coming back). It Just didn't seem possible that Brenda was GONE and it still sets ME back now and then. We're so thankful that she's not having ANY problems now, but we will MISS her til WE are WITH her again!

Thank You Michelle, Karla IS a pretty good kid (although 32yr old one  ::) ). In all honesty though, I'd have to say that Brenda deserves most of the credit for Karla's raising. I was there and contributed, BUT Brenda did the MOST! ;) Yeah, God takes care of us and it's always been said that he won't put more on us than we can handle. But, Sometimes, I have to wonder if he remembers who he is dealing with. I've seen times, like last July, that I think he was thinking about someone else. :-[ I went borderline REAL QUICK and has taken some time, to get to where I wasn't. I still have occasions
when it still kicks me in the rear (not as many or as often, but still there)!

At this point, I feel like MY "Silver Lining" is Berta, but he's still testing, using her Cancer. Been Praying about THAT too!

I appreciate that about the Rant. All in all, I've got a really decent Support System here with a number of you all. That is a Blessing, in MY book! ;)
