Another new guy checking in...
« on: April 10, 2010, 10:59:09 AM »
Hello, I'm Doug from Kansas City.  I currently own a '72 with a '78 front end right now, and a couple years back rebuilt a '71 CB750K1 for a friend.  Thanks to everyone who for posting all the great info & pics on the site.

Because my CB750 had been pieced together from other bikes long before I'd owned it, nicknamed it the "Frankenhonda".

My main ride is an '05 Kaw Concours, and other bikes in the shed include a '72 H2 and a Suzuki T20 X-6.

What shape is the H2, another classic I would like to have!

TY for the welcome, meriggi!

The H2 is in good shape.  At some point will post a pic of it.  Way different bike than a CB750, nowhere near as refined!  My X-6 is currently apart but have since found another X-6 and hope to make a really nice example from the two.

Have a lot of ideas in mind for the Frankenhonda, but the main idea right now is to paint the engine black like an CB750F2, add lester wheels, add an electronic ignition, maybe a 836cc kit, drilled front rotor...basic cafe racer stuff...but top it off with a custom paint job on the tank & R90-ish fairing that it has on it.  It's kinda ratty looking now, but it runs decent and when the Concours is down for maintenance, I fire up the Honda.

Lester wheels? I've read those are very hard to find or very expensive! [$600 for a rear?]

Good Luck
