Just took the bike on a 3 hour ride
« on: April 11, 2010, 08:09:20 PM »
So I went for a ride today North of Tampa FL in the country, awesome roads, curves hills (yep we have a few) and great smooth country roads with a friend of mine. It ran great the entire way, but I started to notice I guess what you would call a flat spot in the power right at the beginning of opening the throttle in each gear, it make kind of a gurgling sound, and then would "catch" and rev up really nice, just in the very very low rpms. I was wondering what might make that happen? Maybe valve adjustment is needed, I feel like maybe the intake vale might be held open too long or something...

On a side note, my friend pulled over about 2 hours into the ride (he has a Suzuki sport bike) to ask if everything was good with my bike, I said it was and asked how he was doing, and he said his um, under-parts, were being bumped around like hell. Haha, I got off later and didn't feel a thing, these bikes feel like easy chairs, while his felt like a too small wooden stool!

i used to love riding out past Lutz. heading out past Z-hills on 301 was a fun ride too.

anyone have any recommendations for that flat spot I mentioned? It is driving me nuts. If I don't accelerate quickly in 3rd or 4th past ~6k I get kinda stuck around there in rpm. Can't get past it in 5th thats for sure. Before and after that, it pulls like a dream. I think I may still be running rich, ill know tomorrow when I go pick up my brand new plug puller from honda that I ordered. Thanks
