If you read down the page the guys father says all he was charged with was exceeding the speed limit, a bloody speeding ticket and that unmarked arsehole has acted like a damn fool and was lucky not to get run down or shot in self defense. And now they want to charge the guy because the whole world has seen how incompetent they are, do these cops know how stupid this makes them look, not to mention the fact that it also makes it reek of a cover up....this type of abuse of the laws makes my blood boil..... >:(

Right on guys, same as what happened at Van airport with the Polish dude and the Horsemen he gets zapped to death and they get filmed all the while claiming they didn't do any thing wrong. I've dealt with a fair amount of cops in my life and it's like any thing else, some should be, they are good at their jobs and some shouldn't be, and allowed any more power than when to breathe, same as teachers, priests, politicians, doctors and any one else that claims a position of power.

Demon , the lead cop in that venture, a Monty Robinson...at a later date,  struck a motorcyclist, who died as a result of his injuries. What did Monty do?, he left the injured rider at the scene, drove home, dropped of his kids, had a few drinks, then returned to the scene..

BC Coalition of Motorcyclists, is on this one.. every court appearance so far, they are they protesting and drawing attention to the case..good on them..

The kid that died was 21.. Robinson still gets to go to work and get paid. The Polish fellow & the kid do not..

.. Not a great example of an RCMP officer.. IMO..

you know mate I've dealt with mounties all my life and as you know there are good and there are #$%*s, after I got out, I was around Whitehorse, south of it in fact on the Alcan Highway and I needed directions, so because it was so far away from a major town I stopped in the local mounty outpost? office and started to ask for directions when a call came in about one of the lads on the res the was chasing people around with a double bladed axe apparently he'd been drinking shaving lotion and had gone a little crazy, ( and no I'm not racist I've known airmen and army types to do the same ) any how the younger cop was snivelling because it was his turn to go and settle the guy down whilst the Corporal in charge was saying sorry I went last time so I asked the older cop was this common and he said yeah every so often at that point I kind of figured they earned their money, any how I think that the Horsemen have deteriorated after that time, a lot more snivelling a lot less duty, cause I know the Corp would have knocked a head together and settled it down or talked to the guy and settled it down that way and not pulled a weapon just used common sense, I also know if the younger constable had drawn his weapon he would have gotten major league #$%* as well as been laughed at. As far as the robinson creature goes he should have to drag his own cross up the hill.

I would expect nothing less from that sawed off little runt, than to manipulate the law to his advantage. This is very typical behavior of a sawed off little runt.

Aaaaaand he hasn't been charged with anything besides breaking the speed limit and probably some reckless driving charge. Cops got pissed because it was recorded and they thought they could scare him or intimidate him or something- take revenge for making them look bad?

It's what sawed-off runts like to do when they look bad being idiots.

Nothing will come of this because no laws were broken by posting the arrest on the interwebs.

He was only charged for doing over 80 mph, nothing else. In one post in this thread there is a link to the story and in the replies his father posted saying that the speeding ticket was all he got.  That idiot cop willend up getting shot for his stupidity and then they will make him a national hero.... ::)

WOW.    Though I shouldn't be surprised, just sounds like cops being cops. They do whatever they want, and expect people to respect (fear) them enough to just shut up and take a good wallet-sodding or we'll put you in jail.

No, I don't agree with the direction that the police are taking this. Where was the undercover officer's badge?

I will say that during traffic stops police are instructed to approach the vehicle with suspicion and therefore are at the ready with their weapon.

yeah,  hand on the gun and it's still holstered and snapped.

drawing down on someone is usually regarded as response to a possible threat.

There was a study in Dade Country in Florida as to why the cops were constantly beating people up and what they found was that the cops were not approaching situations according to the books. Same thing with being in a high speed persuit, your heart rate goes through the roof and you lose your mind for a while, people have done studies on this as well and when your heart rate is over 220 you are for all intensive purposes autistic. Officials were wondering why so many high speed chases ended badly. So speeding after some kid and then getting out and drawing your weapon that dude's heart rate must have been through the roof he was probably to the point of down syndrome, kid is lucky he didn't get shot. Stupid cops need to fess up to their mistakes or we'll have another Diallo situation.

This is fairly local to me, and I'm wondering why the local news hasn't picked this up.  They are already covering a beating of a University of Maryland student by Prince Georges County police after a U/M vs Duke basketball game, and that happened months ago.
