1979 cb650 battery issues((urgent please help))
« on: April 12, 2010, 10:23:03 AM »
i replaced my battery less than 4 months ago. a few weeks ago it died on me so i did what i thought was right and i charged it then it died on me again. so i kept putting it on the charger everynight so i wouldnt have a dead battery when i went out and i didnt feel like being stranded in downtown houston. alot of the charging system has been replaced by the previous owner. besides a bad battery and a dead cell or 2 what what would the problem be. i really need it to be just a bad battery because i dont have the money to replace anything big and expensive.

test between the positive lead and a good ground on your frame with a multi meter. with the key off you shouldn't have a circuit. if that's fine it's your battery

battery diconnected and meter on the ohms(resistance) scale. your meter may show this as omega from the greek alphabet.

i just did as scunny told me to do i tested positive on the multi meter to positive on the battery terminal and negative on the meter to a good ground on the frame and didnt get anything then i switched positive to the ground on the frame and negative on the multi meter to positive on the battery terminal when i switched i got a reading what way was right for the test scunny told me to do and whats wrong? the key was out and bike was off and i hope i just need a new battery and not something more expensive.
