Sunrise Orange paint colors
« on: April 11, 2010, 07:40:58 PM »
Why is is that on 74 and 75 CB550s sunrise orange paint sometimes looks tomato red, and other times it looks orange to almost gold, are there 2 different colors or does the light really catch the paint that much? Does model year make a difference or am I possibly looking at a different color?

I think its the light. My 75 550k looks different in pics some times.  Its the weather or cloud cover.  The 74 has a bigger black decal too wthout the stripe? The extra striping in 75s might break it up from refracting the light!? 1st pic Sun,see the gold points. @nd pic cloudy.

So, the strategy is to lie to people you are asking for help?

I think I'll be busy going for a ride.

Good luck!

Yeah i know, but he was also asking why it sometimes looks red and if he had not seen one in person , in different light the color changes so he could have been referring to one of the red models.

He didn't mention F or K

I wasn't looking for an argument, i was just offering a reason as to why some may look Tomato red..

It's more of a camera question.  I've seen many Flake Sunrise Orange bikes, all look the same in person, some that look darker or reddish in photos.

Just as different films process colors differently, digital cameras do the same thing.
Go metric, every inch of the way!

Two people will look at the same color physically, in person, and disagree about what it consists of. "It's red with a slight hint of yellow" or "No, it's tangerine with a slight bit of watermelon". Everyone sees colors differently. Add in digital cameras, computers, uncalibrated monitors and arguments begin.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.
