We're about 90 miles north of Euge, but for a chance to meet you, it's a real, real short drive. :D :D :D  PM us with the details.

Yeah let us know when. We love Eugene. Hippy-ville.  8) ;D Would love to meet up with you. Actually, there are so many of us from the forum in this general area that we could do a serious meet up with you and probably get you a bike for a ride.  8)

Well Sounds like you all are heading toward a get together there. Too cool! I just gave up MY Class A CDL about 3 or 4 yrs ago, because I hadn't used it in so long and got tired of the higher cost of renewing my driver's license. ::)

Too bad that it's not the same here. I don't remember all of the endorsements I had but, for sure, I had a Class A w/ tanker, Haz Mat, Doubles and I think one or two more endorsements but can't remember for sure. It's been a few years since I dropped back to a standard license. Seems like I was paying about $45 or so for my CDL.

when i renewed my license in 2004 i got the class a/hazmat classification renewed too. not due for renewal now until 2014 (not that i'd actually pass a DOT physical for a legitimate driving job  :D )  this is more of a favor to a friend for a chance to see a part of the country i've never seen before. i've always wanted to see where Animal House was filmed.

Yeah, Churchill HS auctioned off the band uniforms used in the movie about 7 years ago now... kinda sad.

There's nothing good for the soul like a good long road trip.  It's not a good trip unless you look just as haggard getting back as you did when you left. :D

i have some friends i went to high scholl with i'm going to see on the way back too. there is no way in hell i'll ever be able to drive a commercial vehicle for a living again (nor would i want to) but this will be a great journey for me. too bad Hamish likely wont be with us by then, he'd LOVE a cross country trip in a truck with his dad!

I have an old racing buddy that works at the Iowa 80. We passed by there last week. The national motorcycle museum is about 25 miles north of I80 near Iowa city in Anamosa. worth a side trip if you get the chance.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

i thought about brigning my trek with me but it would be too pricey to carry on an airplane, too bad too a bicycle is great to get around the larger truckstops on. i always carried a bike with me when i drove OTR

Jeff I'm so jelous.  I would kill to make that little run.  I haven't had a chance to drive a rig in a few years (even though I was only a mechanic I could drive), I miss driving them.  There's nothing better then a 600HP CAT engine and a 18 speed Fuller.  All I get to play with anymore are firetrucks and abulances, no real challenge there with automatic transmissions, and all.  Oh well I guess I will just have top live through you. ;)

back when i was driving for a living i turned onto alligator alley out of ft myers pulling a 53ft dry van full of paper products and i decided to see just how good the cat n-14 in my classic xl ran. this was a roadranger 13 in it. i opened it up in top gear and i finally had to lift off because of smoke from a brushfire but we were going close to 120 when i had to lift off. i never did it again but i had to try just once, i mean a 6 month old freightshaker with the 550hp n-14 i HAD to try at least once.

...... i've always wanted to see where Animal House was filmed.

Delta House is gone but the snooty Omegas are still there.

... so did Pinto get laid in Autzen Stadium or Hayward Field??

 ???

while you're doing the movie tourist bit y'all can even stop by the State Hospital and see where they filmed Cuckoo's Nest.
