parting out a 350F-1and I found this

I started tearing down the parts bike I have which I intend to give you guys first crack at. When I pulled the valve cover off I see that the cam shaft gear looks different from mine (also a 74 350F-1) what are these black things for? Are they important? Should my bike have them?

Maybe a dampener to offset the weight of the bolts? My cam chain sprocket on my 350f, 400f, and 500f engines all have that.

Yeah I have them on my '73 350f as well.
Now about those parts.....
I'm looking for a good head and engine case if you're planning to tear the engine down or the whole engine if we can make a deal that works.
Unfortunately shipping to Toronto, Ontario might kill any deal.

As soon as I finish my own project I will start selling the parts to this bike,,,and I will be breaking down the engine.

Hi:
I'm fairly confident that these rubber bits on the sprockets are sound dampers to quiet the cam chain. People liked the quiet high quality shuffle of these engines, and I think noise restrictions were starting to come in during this era.
But please correct me if I'm wrong.

All three of the motors I have been inside have those.
