Single Filament Blinkers
« on: April 13, 2010, 06:35:44 AM »
Any way to wire Single filament signals in as marker lights in the front too?  Right now, because they are only single filament and i have the marker wires connected into the signal wiring i get both the front and rear lighting up when the headlight is on, or if i unplug the blue/white (or orange/white) i can have them as blinkers only.  they both blink when in running light mode, but I have heard here it's illegal to run anything but red lights in the back.  i guess i was wondering if there is a way to isolate the B/W and O/W to only the front, or should i source out some new dual filament lights for the front.  Small bullet style lights, probably pretty cheap if i know my buying habits.

Has to be dual filament to use running lights and blinkers

thats kinda what i figured, but not being an electronics wizz or even close to that, i figured i should ask.  Thanks anyway though.  Now i just have to decide whether to run sans running lights or buy some new blinkers for the front.  For now i think no running lights, easy switch later.  thats still legal right?  Not having running lights on the front?

It shouldn't be too complicated to make the single filament lights blink off when the turn signal switch is activated but I don't know about the legality of using amber turn signals.

yeah i can get everything blinking, just all of them are running lights instead of just the front.  An all or nothing deal with the running lights.  I'll worry more about it when i start riding it.  For now i know it's wired right and i can move onto the next project. (drop oil pan, clean, clean oil tank, fit new gaskets, fab a seat pad, Paint a bunch, install 4-1 exhaust, find somewhere to stash the wiring mess, insulate rear blinker mount from ground..)
