Bucky Katt I am glad she is handing the situation ok.

More great advice.....

      Yeah, makes me proud! ;)

wow I can't believe you guys are still going on about that.  His post required no futher comment.  It is not contributing to the thread nor is it helping Bucky.

That IS a fact, the main thing we should be concentrating on is Jeff and his wife's condition. So glad that nothing has erupted here to distract from that. ;)

Keep yer chin up Bucky.  Concentrate on getting the best care you can and worry about the money latter.  There has to be some type of program to help you out.

she's feeling pretty good, handling this whole thing better than i am thats for sure

Hang in there Buck, try and focus on what's truly important, I know times like these can magnify everything around us and it's hard sometimes to keep the little things in their proper place.

IF it is true that cancer males you legally disabled, then that would qualify you for Medicare Plan D.  You will, however, need a Social Security / Disability lawyer to get it- the people who make laws are all lawyers and set things up so you can't do anything without them...

Plan D pretty much sucks, too, but it's better than nothing.

I am thinking of divorcing Kathleen so she won't be responsible for my medical debts when I'm gone.  Sad, but I want her to be OK -in that respect, anyway.  I need >boink< to talk to a lawyer...

I know a couple in which one of the two has an illness for which there is no cure.  It is expensive and eventually fatal.  Fortunately, medical benefits are covering it but there is an upper ceiling to the benefits.  They are considering the same thing if they exhaust their policy so that person can be eligible for public programs.

her hemoglobin has gone up to 9 now, up from 8 when released from the hospital and she';s actually getting around better than i am right now, having blown out my knee. her daughter is here daily lending a hand and we get to see the grandbaby daily too. so right now all is well.

Not to stir anything up. On a personal level I find it sad people are forced to divorce to protect their assets due to illness.

Bucky, I will continue to do research on programs.

we have been living well below poverty level pretty much since i got hurt in 2007, the only asset really worth anything is the house, which the irs has a lien on already (they wont sell it just that we cant either) my car has nearly half a million miles on it and NADA on my k4 750 is something like 300 dollars. the house needs so much work anyways it isnt worth a damn anyways. we'll figure it out though, we always seem to.

Got to give you all credit Jeff, for hanging in there and working through things as they come up. We (Brenda and I) did alot of THAT over the years, because of Karla's Doctor and medicine bills. Even with good insurance, they were pretty hefty. So, I can identify with that as well. Hate you all have to go through all of that, but am proud of the attitude and determination that you all have.  ;)

I am still praying for u buckey, I know your situation and we don't evey it at all, heck we are still trying to get things caught up with hubbys problem he was out with, Thank God for our family practice doc who filled out the form for us as the stupid cardio doc refused to. Now as soon has hd emails my husbands boss he can return to work and hopefully like yesterday. So I am praying for u and virgina as i know what you are going thru and I to will be looking for programs for u as well. As a matter of fact why not try to file disablity for virgina? That is pretty much a given in social security disablity, it will most defenitaly bring income in now that tax sesion is over. Just a thought.

saw the surgeon this morning and theyre taking the entire colon. the Dr said when the cancer recurs like this it's pretty standard to just take the whole thing. she will NOT have to have a colostomy thank god. next week is when she should be going in for surgery, she'll be in at least a week, 2 days before the surgery for testing and her go lightly cocktails (i suggested goslings black seal rum and use the stuff as a mixer :D )
