Cool looking Super Sport you got there.  Do you know what kind of aftermarket muffler is on there?  I'm working on A '75 CB550 Super Sport myself, the pipes are good but the muffler is rusted through and I want to find something to replace it and keep the 4 into 1 pipes.

By the way, since you are getting rid of the stock tank, might you want to part with the gas cap?  Mine has gone missing.

Your 4-1 header is in what looks to be fair condition right now.  I'd unwrap it and get that rust off and paint it or jethot it if I were you.  That wrap holds in moisture from what I hear.  Maybe it's just bad in rainy weather.  I know how rare those are so I wouldn't want to see it go to waste.

yeah, they were a little rough on the bottoms. i think someone had a well place bike jack under neath at some point... the wrap kinda hid that and it was one of the things i wanted from the get-go.

That's a nice look.  I like the peanut tank.  But, best of all, I'm totally stoked to know CBs are still going strong in 2022. :D

I'm working on A '75 CB550 Super Sport myself, the pipes are good but the muffler is rusted through and I want to find something.

I have a Mac muffer for sale, check the For Sale forum.

Sorry for the hijack!

I'm surprised how well the peanut tank looks on there, not generally a fan. Love the shorty rear fender. It'll be interesting to see how you pull a seat off here. It's gotta bring everything together. Have you thought of a smaller rear wheel to give it more of a slanted stance?

i wasnt ever a fan of the "peanut tank look". but on the smaller bike it seems to fit better imo.
that was the issue with the shorter fender. the stock seat just completely hides it. im gonna do some more cutting on that seat pan and probably just wrap in vinyl... we'll see. this is my first try at seat work....

One thing I thought would help it is to cut this piece off.
