On Any Sunday
« on: April 15, 2010, 03:56:00 PM »
I thought it might be fun and also bring back some great memories to start a new thread on the lasting impact the movie ON ANY SUNDAY had on all of us here. I saw it in 1971 when it first came out at a theater in my hometown. I still love bikes and still ride today because of this movie. I brought up my two boys riding bikes from a early age and Im sure they will do the same with there kids. I wanted to be like Malcolm Smith, I thought he was a magician on a motorcycle and Steve McQueen wasn't to bad either. At the end of the movie when there riding on the beach. It just doesn't get much better than that does it !!!!
Lets here from everybody.
thanks dhall

It's funny. I've been collecting motorcycle DVDs for a while and always skipped over this movie. I always thought it was about motocross racing (maybe because of the cover art?) which never really interested me. I just started watching it online and now I'm sold! It's a perfect blend of 70's cheese (music, comedy, big moustaches ;D) mixed with vintage motorcycle coolness. I'm going to have to get this on DVD this weekend and watch it on a proper set up.

i watch it every couple of months. i have since i got the dvd in 2003 or so. i love getting a look at what motorcycles and motorcyclists were doing 30 + years ago. i used to have a van like Mert's back in the 90's with the same cheesy stripe down the side.

I like the big fat dude on the little pocket bike in the very begining.

Thanks for reminding me about this movie everybody!  I have wanted to watch it since I was a kid.  So I just fired up NetFlix and watched it.  Very cool seeing the vintage bikes, cars and styles.  I'm guessing 1971 was the year they figured out how to do slow motion...
It took 10 years but she's finally done!
