It also amazes me that those are some of the same ones who complete the outfit with a full-face, bulletproof, $1000 helmet.   It's like, sure buddy, you've got a high-end brainbucket going on there, but...you still need all that soft, squidgey stuff inside below your neck.

Ignorance and inexperience is no substitution for a brain.  And I will be honest I am not a experience rider.  I used to ride when I was younger a bit and I've take a refresher course but I know I'm not god and that ever little idiot on the road is aiming for me.

Poser is different than squid..
 when a poser gets braver and a bit better at riding, they may  become squids..

 either group, you do not want to ride with them, they can either hurt you/take you out, or you can get stuck, cleaning up the mess..

Ahh there we go thanks for clearing that up    They make it to squids if they live long enough.

I believe "Posers" is best defined by the movie "Wild Hogs". If you haven't seen it, you should, it's actually a pretty good flick. Peter Fonda has a small, but good part.

This however is a thread designed to clarify the term "Squid" as most commonly applied to certain groups of motorcycle enthusiasts.

I was told by a machinist that a regular guy, you give a 20 and send him to the store, he will come back with what you needed, a squid you have to write a note, pin it to his shirt, drive him to the store, hand him the 20, wait outside and when he comes out check to see what he got and count the change.
