So my friend is of the opinion that my bike with chrome fenders, and a white tank with red markings (and a white sidecover with a red 550Four decal) dont go together. He thinks I should either paint my fenders white as well, or use a bare metal sort of color for my tank and maybe use black on the side covers. I love the way my bike looks with the white and metal combo. I know that in the end, only my opinion matters, just wanted a few more. Here is an older picture of my bike below, have side covers for it now but they are black atm. The tank has a dent on the other side so I want to have it filled and then have the whole tank stripped then repainted exactly the same, just new non-yellowing paint and get the red swoosh mark painted on instead of a decal. Any ideas? What would you do?

maybe instead of or with the 550Four decal the honda wing on the side covers like this

ya, I agree. Sometimes painted fenders can look plasticy... like a dirtbike. But other times, it's really nice looking. I just dont know about white on the fenders.

If the chrome is in good shape, leave it. These fenders aren't available anymore, so destroying good chrome seems wrong to me.

Tell your friend to paint his bike however he wants. It's your bike so ignore what anybody says if you like it.

Instead of painting the fenders how about a white center stripe with a red outline?

Get yourself a simple plastic front fender, I found one for less than $10, and paint that. Painting the chome original seems like a waste, and a new plastic one is easier to paint anyway.
If you ask me, the chrome one looks fine with your bike....

A white street bike with matching fenders that caught my attention was the Harley Superglide. First introduced in 1971 and again in 2006.

oh, and I did modify the wing logo to put 550Four in the top "feather" myself. I'm very proud of that haha, never used photo shop before

I would not paint the fenders. If you really like white [I don't] maybe paint it a nice Pearl White.
I would go back to a stock color, but it's your bike!

haha not my car, it's my friend's, but ya there are a ton of white cars down here. I have never been too into white myself, but thats how I bought her, and shes my first bike as well, so it's a love at first sight sort of thing. Like when you got your first girlfriend, if she was a redhead even if you didnt really care about redheaded girls before, you seem to develop a thing for it. haha can you tell that one happened to me too?

also, not a fan of the stock colors really, I find they are a bit too, idk, old looking really I guess. Like an avocado green fridge. I LOVE the old style of CB's but I like newer looking colors on them.

White bikes are cool. But make sure you don't get a super bright white, it will look wrong. Mine is BMW Alpinwhite.

I think if I was going to leave the scallop on the side of the tank, I would flip it so the longer heavier line was on top instead of the bottom.

I like chrome fenders on your bike. but do what you think looks good.

and if you want to use a plastic fender, you just find the fender itself without the mount(ebay), drill out the rivets on your mount, and screw the plastic one to it. so any plastic fender would work if it's the general shape and size. some people zip tie them to the forks, but you need that mount as a stabilizer, so it's best to keep it.

ya, no zip ties for me thanks haha. I even replaced the zip ties on the petcock holding the fuel lines on with metal screw down straps

Crome fenders are ugly, IMO...of course.

Here is my bike...

I wasn't 100% sure of the color, but when I got everything back, I was very happy with my color choice.
