CB750 Compression Rings

I'm getting ready to install my new rings and I want to make sure that the two compression rings are in the proper grooves. One ring has a groove or a bevel on the lower/outer surface. Is this the top compression ring?

...not sure I"m tracking on u'r question. One of the rings should have a letter printed on it (an R or T I think). I think thats the top ring, and the letter should face up.

Both compression rings - new set and old set - have the manufacturers letter or logo to help with the orentation on the piston.

Pain sided chrome faced ring in top groove; black collored ring in second groove three piece ring in oil scraper--fit expander first and then wind the rails on DO NOT expand unlike compression rings.
ALL RINGS FITTED WITH ANY MARKINGS/NUMBERS UPWARDS
