Topic: '77 CB550K Carb Kits

Greetings Everyone,

I am searching for a source for carburetor rebuild kits for a 1977 Honda CB550K. In 1977 the carbs changed from those found on the 76 and earlier bikes and the '76 kits will not work. Does anyone have a source for these?

I have the same bike same year. Depending on what you need, bikebandit.com is a good source to start or Babbits Online. Z1 Enterprises has bowl gaskets individually. Ebay for float needles usually has the best price. . When I got float needles, the package listed the GL as compatible, not sure if the carbs are the same though could just be the same size. bike bandit/ Ebay are my usual routes just be sure you know what your looking for. Do you want a general kit or individual parts?

Thanks for the info. I will piece it together if I have to.

What I was really hoping for was a complete Keyster Kit like what's available for the CB500 and 550 from '71 to '76. I used a one of these kits on a '71 CB500 I rebuilt over the winter and it worked great. Someone on Ebay is selling a Keyster kit labeled for the '77 CB550K with a Keyster part number of KH-0899N but they are over $50.00 per kit. $200 for kits is outrageous. I can't find these kits elsewhere so maybe they are old stock etc. Meanwhile lets tell Keyster we still have these bikes and that they should provide a kit!

A little cheaper, but $42.50 each is still steep. Good luck.
