I bought a 91 GMC Sonoma 4 cylinder in February, it passed emissions with flying colors. Up until yesterday it ran fine, shifted fine (it's a manual, but no slip) and was strong. For some reason yesterday after it warmed up it started to idle rough and I don't really have any idea what it is. When i first start it she's fine and she'll run smooth for the first five minutes or so, but after that she idles kind of rough, almost as if she's not firing on one of the cylinders.
Any suggestions? I really dont' want to put too much money into this vehicle as I'm trying to save up for a nicer one for when this one bites the dust (it's not supposed to happen this fast dang it!) Would the EGR valve do this? Also, I pulled the air filter (it's a wee bit dirty) an in the air filter compartment which sits on top of the throttle body, there is what looks like some really thick oil, almost like dirty engine oil.
Right now I'm so tired and frustrated with old vehicles.... well I'm just tired and frustrated with them really.
