Wow man! If that bike wasn't so clean I'd say it was a new speedo. Well found.
Looking at that pic, do you know if a 650 seat will fit on a 550F? I need to get closer to the ground.  :D

Purchased new locally in '80 (same dealership I use) by an older fella who died before he could even put 1k miles on it. His wife gave the bike back to the dealership, where is sat for a while. Someone finally purchased it and stuck it back in a garage, only adding a couple miles to the odometer.

I was planning on starting my 550/650 hybrid to run out at Bonneville and posted a want ad for a 79 or 80 650. This guy contacted me, but it took a couple weeks and about 20 tries to finally get him to call back - worth the effort for sure!

Obviously too nice for me to steal the crank and head for the Bonneville build, so I'll have to keep looking...

Nah, they mount totally different. Frames are different too.

Nice find.  About a week ago there was a 1980 KZ750 twin with 119 miles on it for sale locally.  Asking $1200 I think.  Similar story where the owner dies soon after and the bike gets parked.

It doesn't! It's sat up a while. I don't know much about the 650's other than the motor is the same platform as the 500/550, and that they had charging problems. I also see the chrome airbox covers and grab bar are missing. All things I'll be fixing.
