does anyone know if this would work with a cb650 i get very forgetfull on my fuel fill ups and i hat to tap the side of the tank or take the cap off and swish the tank around

Man...that is $142 from Yamiya. They are $110 new on eBay including shipping. There is a used one on eBay now for $31.  They fit the following bikes:

Don't worry about the fuel level.  Just fill it up and ride it around.  When it starts to feel like it doesn't have any power and is missing out a bit, switch the petcock to reserve and find a gas station cause you have about a gallon left.  Once you experience what the bike feels like when it is running low you will know what I mean.  Should get quite a few miles on reserve, plenty to find a gas station.

But to answer your question, sorry don't know.

I don't know this to be true, but I've heard from several different people that those caps with the gauges don't work real well. Like I said this is only hear/say. I'm with guy above just filll it up and ride till it starts cutting out and not wanting to run then put it on reserve and find a gas station.

Doesn't that 650 have a trip meter?  I have been using that as my fuel gauge for years.  If you really want that gauge buy the used one on eBay and try it out. That way you won't be out very much cash and you can resell it. I suppose you may be able to retrofit it to the tank...maybe.

The gauge is just a float hanging from a chain.  I don't know that it's really all that accurate.

I had one on one of my 1970 750's.  It looked neat until the plastic face got all hazy from exposure to sunlight.  I think it took about 25 minutes?
