And here's proof that the general public should always decide what goes on the covers of magazines. Oregon's The Portland Mercury put that responsibility in the hands of its readers, letting them take a poll to choose. Artist Andrew Zubko was then asked to bring it life.

So what'd they vote for? A metal, bikini-clad Betty White holding a flaming chainsaw riding John Ritter. And not just any John Ritter. Centaur John Ritter.

And where can I get my own copy?

This publication is a summation of why I'm moving to Idaho as soon as I can -nevermind the business taxes they just passed this year.

That and it's sunny there - even if it's 40 deg F you can get out on two wheels without wearing a glad bag.

I was born in Portland. I've never got to lived there as an adult but everytime I go I want to stay. If I ever become a bum you'll find me sleeping under the Burnside bridge skating and doing bum stuff. That is the only city I've ever been to that has skate paths.
I'll be riding up this summer to escape the Houston heat and see my ol high school girlfriend dance at Sassy's if anyone knows "Malice" tell her I said hi. When I was a kid I planned a runaway to this fair city. it's a skateboarder motorcycle punk heaven.

My young friend and adopted daughter, Wendy, is a cook at Sassy's. I'll see if she knows Malice.

Portland does have more strip joints per capita than any other city...

Wow, I haven't thought of Sassy's in a long time.

When my buddies and I were all young and single, we used to have a Christmas Eve tradition- drive around and hand out stolen Christmas trees to the homeless and then retire to Sassy's (the only place open @ 12:30 pm on Christmas eve) for a good old time.
Ahhh, the holidays....

Starkmojo, did you know that it was Reagan's secret service boys who gave us the 'Little Beirut' title back in the 80's? They used to HATE to come here because of all the #$%* we'd give El Presidente.
