G's poetry corner
« on: April 19, 2010, 05:34:58 PM »
post your own original poetry, any subject.... here's mine...
The Chia Pet, the Electric Gerbil and the Iron Curtain went for a ride today,     in the Hispano-Suiza.... the passed by an Indian that was selling cigars.
They asked him if he needed a ride, but he said simply, "Take me to your Wakan......"
The Chia Pet spoke to him, from behind the Iron Curtain....
I like berries.

I do haikus more than regular poetry.

I feel the cold now.

The Depressed

deaf, dumb, and blind we are,
callous spirits blankly staring afar
that know not why.

from time's merciless past scarred deep
by memory's painful edge,
a keen sickle honed to reap
we cannot gaze heavenward in pleasentry
to the glorious firmament of dawn's sky
and know not why.

Sightless, like Oedipus,
wounds inflicted upon the soul
no love - no laugh - no hope - unwhole.
no youthful laughter free, just Judas fools void blatant happiness
or the jester's ignorant revelry.

deceiving truth and profane holiness
are but the righteous rogue's retreat
sugar-coating the unknown.
for the terminal placebo. for the starving dog a meatless bone
masquerading the dive
into warm Death's deep dark sea.

yet still the longing hearts' seek
empty joy or brief glee
filled heavily, weighing dismally in our useless existences
as dryly we cry - and cry - and cry
but know not why
to even continue in our struggling persistence

futile. seeking harmony in this warring resistance
of unyielding conflict, hypocrite's lies, and impending death
in failing faith until the last goodbye
of our fading life's final, choked breath.

here, catatonic we sit in spoiled view
of this thieving theatre's broken dreams,
a poison panoramic vision of entropy forever played
upon this weakening world's shadow screen.
striving on in the battered somnambulism
of silent screams - and screams - and screams.
insightful insomniacs
that know not why.

for we are born with a helpless cry
into a world that knows not shame
and we die a lonely sigh
when the pistol goes bang,

because we know not why.

Beginning’s End

so it begins
so it may end

so it is torn
so its hall mend

so we are born
so we can cry

so we do mourn
that we will die

so is the earth
blown in life's breath

so is rebirth
from the depths of death

Crap! I hate it when that happens. He throws my whole rhythm off.

So, maybe a little free verse might put me back in the mood.......

Goddamn cat

you stare at me from a hole in the ceiling as I lay naked
on the couch.
One hand on the remote controll, the other hand on
my ever-shrinking manhood.

Are you jealous of my opposable thumbs?
Believe me, if I could lick myself as you do
I'd quit my day job tomorrow.

Goddamn cat

You freak me out! You never blink.
Are you going to pounce on me
when I am in the throws of self inflicted passion?

Or are you just waiting to laugh silently at me
in your devious cat way
when my grandmother comes home
and demands to know what I'm doing with her underwear
and the peanut butter.

Towing down the highway with my family in the truck
headed for the dragstrip, think it's time to try our luck
had enough of runner-up, we're going back to win
missing our old winning ways, wanna feel that way again
We pull into the racetrack looking for a lucky spot
and then a tech inspection, to check out what what we brought
Pull into the staging lanes thats where it all begins
then into the water box to give the tires a spin
Next into the prestage beam and then one more to stage
waiting for the lights to flash to feel the engines rage
In one second sixty feet and in three seconds more
the eigth mile pole goes flashing past, I hear the engines roar
when almost six seconds pass, I catch the other car
I'm leading now, a thousand feet have passed us by so far
The finish line goes flashing past I won the first round race
The chute pops out, the engine goes back to it's quiet place
it's quiet now, the turnoff comes and now there's time to think
My reaction time, it must be good, a fraction of a blink
five more times my win light shines I finally got a win
Got back our old winning ways, good to feel that way again.

There once was a young poser from Belize,
Who didn't know her bike was part Chinese,
So as long as her man road a hog,
 She'd bark like a dog,
And get carpet burns on her hands and her knees.

Starkle starkle little twink

I'm not under what you call
the alcofluence of incohol
I'm just a little slort of sheep
I'm not drunk like tinkle peep
I don't know who is me yet
but the drunker I stand here the longer I get
Just give me one more drink to fill me cup
'cuz I got all day sober to Sunday up.
