Toy had to qualify it with "yet affordable". That screwed it for you. The last car show I went to, there was somewhere in the neighbourhood of 1200 cars. Of those 1200 or so there had to be nearly 200 to 250 first gen Camaros.

Sweet car, but would prefer to find one that is together......little bits and pieces missing, can become expensive and a real pain to track down.

Thanks for posting though.

It isn't all bad, at least your not looking for a job  ;)

I've been looking for toy(s) too and feel your pain.  Initially as the economy "slowed down"  a few toys came on the market for quick sale, what with people loosing jobs and needing to make house payments.  As the dust settled and the deals dried up, it seems projects and collectibles bobbed back up.  My theory is that a hard asset makes more sense as an investment when the dollar and stocks are falling or soft.  Barret Jackson, eBay, and Criagslist expanded the demand as well.  Not to mention all the yahoos that lost a job and started "fixin up old ___________ to pay the bills"  ::)  Good luck, and remember that the search is part of the fun...

A good friend of mine picked this up over the winter. 1967 Camaro Z/28 302 4-Speed manual steering, power brakes. It was parked since 1978. approx. 35,000 miles. $14,000!!!!!!
He's going for full restoration. After he gets it painted I will be helping him putting it back together.

Awesome cars, i like the 67 firebird as well. There is a company in the States that makes brand new bodies for the early camaro's, wouldn't that be cool, a brand new 60's model camaro.... ;)

I think the camaro bodies new were going for like 15 or 20 G's  I guess if your the kind of guy who has 14k to buy a car and then completely strip it down and put another 14k into it then that would be a good way to go with the money you save on body repair you could get everything else new.

AH, that is a 1969 z/28 camaro. I use to own one with a cowl induction hood. A 1967 is different, like it has wind wings
on the doors and the front end group is way different. Hell of a deal though !!

For genuine torture let's play "If only I still had it now." I sold my '67 RS covertible for $750 back in the day. Sold my '49 5 window cab Chevy pickup for $500, sold my '69 Nova for $500! Of course back then I was paying peanuts for these! My buddy's dad bought him a '55 Chevy for $25!!! The worst was when I went abroad for a nhumber of years. I left my Triumph T100C with my mom to sell for me. She did...for $75!!!!!!!!!!

Excuse me it is a 1969. I was never a Camaro guy. I owned a 1965 Corvette Convertible 4 speed for 10 years. Awesome car Wish I had that one back!! I'll have to scan some pictures of it. Heres some other pictures of the Z/28. He'll have about $33,000+ into it after the initial cost, body work, parts, trans rebuild, we're doing the motor, and interior.

Heres a picture from the 70's when it was on the street!!

I still have the 69 firebird I bought in 70, 350 HO, I wish it hadn't lived through all those midwest winters but it was our only car. I bought a full floor pan and rear quarters for it. Not installed yet. I have some 69 camaro 3/4 rear quarter panels in the attic. Last year I found a 69 california camaro that was stripped clean but no rust and a complete RS/SS with the folding rear seat that had been re-done and rusted again. together they would have made a nice car. About 6k woud have bought them both.

70-73 is my favourite body style. had a 71 z28 in the mid 90's traded it for a Norton commando 850.
