I just bought a '74 CB550K and while the seat mounts correctly to the hinges the latch is missing.
Or, I should say the latch's lock mechanism is missing.
It had one pin in the seat hinge. Don't think it dropped the other.
Anyway. The latch has a hook instead of a plunger pin for the lock mechanism.
So, is this the correct seat or a wrong seat?

I'll take some photos of it in the next few days when I'm back at the shop where the bike and the seat are located.
The shop is a workshop at a friend's place...

What kind of seat lock or latch should it have?

Thanks!

Seat is wrong, its an early 500 one and the plunger will not fit as the bolt spacing is different
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Thanks!  That's what I was beginning to suspect.
