I can find grease zerks on my wifes CM400a

Has anyone put zerks on there 750?
These wonderful little birds are great flyers, delicious eating, excellent for training your hunting dog, and just fun to shoot,or stuff and keep around the house.  Bobwhites can be put with other types of Quail and have very large penis's.  Quail are very popular with the babes.

i have holes in the ends of my swingarm bolt, that lead to the bearing surfaces. thats where i put my 'zerks', but i call them a grease nipple. get less funny looks that way. i pump on those things till fresh grease is everywhere then wipe it up. i like to think it makes my girls arse firmer.....

I went out to the garage to check the 550, and mine doesn't have any zerks either. ( I like that word, I'm gonna start using it, don't care about the funny looks.)  I would say you'll either have to lube the swingarm by hand, or see if you can find a set of zerks to replace the stock nuts with.

I read on the old site a long time ago that you can drill the swingarm and screw in a "grease nipple" (English for zerk...)

That sounds like a pretty easy solution, Steve.  May have to try that.

Now let's see what happens when I go into the parts store and ask for a couple of zerks.

Don't know agout your 550's but my '75 CB750F has a single (right angle) lube fitting on the underside of the swingarm in the center. Just about impossible to find unless the bike is on the centerstand and you are flat on the pavement looking up at the swingarm pivot area from the right side so the chain doesn't block you view. Interesting place to put it. Can't remember where it is on my other Hondas.

Gordon, if you go into the parts store and ask for "Zerks" they should know exactly what you want, it's pretty common terminology. Maybe the younger guys won't know. Maybe they don't know what a grease gun is either. Don't ask me where the name came from, I don't know.

Not hard to see when the bike is on a lift. ;)

My 76 CB550F has a 'zerk' in the middle of the swingarm spindle as well - my 500/550 service manual shows the one integrated into the swingarm bolt, so it should be one or the other on all bikes I would expect.

I'm about to rebuild my swingarm spindle - no real reason, just stumbled on a NOS pivot shaft (the sleeve that goes over the bolt), some brass bushings and have ordered a new pivot bolt.  I've heard the brass bushings improve the action of the swingarm - who knows  :P

zerks or not, the best way is to put on the dirty pants, get the pan and kero, and get dirty.
pull the wheel, chain, swingarm, the lot out, really clean those hard to get to bits, lube it with really nice grease (think women and moisturiser.....sohc4's are female.......spend accordingly), and put it back together with love and attention.
tits or wheels mate....its an old story

Thanks for the info  :)

I'll put it up on the center stand and look for a zerk, or nipple, or maybe even a nub.

zerk  was the last name of the guy that invented it,   Nipple.... I think Adam thought of that one.  Nub I believe was Eves description.

and I'm back in the wind.   :)
