Topic: Stalls during hard stops

So I had an issue last year with my stumbling at idle to 1/4 throttle and at cruising speed.  I got alot of help from the fine folks here.  I managed to get that problem mostly sorted out.  I say mostly because it's better, but not completely gone.  One of the comments was to check my float height, which I did, the best I could with not having a proper tool.  I just used a metric ruler.

That brings me to my current problem.  I had to stop quick to avoid getting "T boned" today (whole 'nother story), and the bike stalled.  To recreate this to test that I didn't just kill it, I tried a few more quick stops on my way home this afternoon and it did the same thing.  Might this have something to do with a improperly set float height?  Or is that normal and maybe too much fuel floods the carbs and causes a stall?

Also, any help with the stumbling at cruising speed would be appreciated as well.

5 will get you 10 that you are still having float issues.

I should also mention the rest of the specs for the fuel / air system...

MAC exhaust
stock setting an the carbs
stock airbox
carbs have been synced
all stock needle and jet setting
carbs verified clean

Check you float height with a real gauge or make one, you need to dial that height in before you go on to anything else.

While you are in there, check your float valves and idle circuit.
if they're gunkd', your fuel (flow) may be having a hard time keeping up to your (throttle) needs.

once these are squeakyclean, bench sync them before reinstalling.
