Hello from Wisconsin
« on: August 31, 2010, 05:24:52 PM »
Hello Everyone,

Years ago I had a CB750k5 and I loved it.  It was my first bike.  I foolishly let a co-worker drive it one day and he wrecked it.  >:(

Fast forward about 18 years.  Recently I've been thinking about that bike more and more often.  I started thinking about trying to find an 'ol beater' to fix up and do some sort of custom work on.  Imagine my surprise to discover that these bikes are so popular!

Anyway, I recently pulled the trigger on a '74 CB750 and am getting ready to tear into it.  I am astonished (and relieved) to find a forum dedicated to these bikes, I've been living on this site the last few weeks soaking up as much info as I can, I have a copy of Hondamans book on the way, and as soon as I get started I'll be putting up a build thread.

So anyway, hello from Wisconsin!

Nate

Welcome from Oshkosh. One thing you will find out is we like pics here. The guys have a wealth of knowledge and enjoy sharing. Nothing makes us more happy than to see a vintage bike brought back to life.

Not sure yet what I plan to do with it.  Definitely not stocker, although I gotta say that yours is a beaut!  First steps are all mechanical.  Rebuild carbs, new tires, fork seals, improve on kluged forward controls, etc.  Oh, and turn signals too.  I figure that'll give me time to think about aesthetics.

Welcome from Pittsburgh.  You won't find resources and advice lacking 'round these parts.

Hello Wisconsin!  :D

Not sure if the reference was intended, but it made me laugh.
