Topic: best method for patching holes in exhaust with no welder available

after hitting my 78 750k 4 - 4 with a wire wheel a few small holes showed up, the largest being around 1/2" or so. theyre all around 6-8" from the outlet of the muffler and all on the inside. i had to end up selling my welder earlier this year so that option is out for me. any suggestions? i'll be painting these pipes with 1500 degree black after wire wheeling them.

How long do you want the repair to last?  The "Muffler Mender" paste I used on my 550 pipe a few years ago is holding up really well, but I don't know if I'd use it as a permanent fix.

a few years is more than enough. as soon as money starts coming in i want a set of benjis' 4-4 pipes.

I bought it at AutoZone, or some place like that.  It's called Muffler Mender and looks like a tube of toothpaste.  It's a firm paste so it stays in place while curing.

no torches anymore either, i have almost NO power tools of any kind anymore, or the ones that make fire

JB Weld, you can fix anything with that stuff, and it's sandable, preferably not the quick set stuff.

Another option to JB Weld is Marine-tex at a boating store.  It's a 2-part stuff that I have seen people use on everything from fiberglas to temporary manifold repairs.

JB Weld isn't thick enough to fill a hole and stay in place while it cures.

I've got a wire feed  welder you welcome to come over and use if u want is a bit of a drive but its an option

the JB weld stick stuff is great.
just cut off the amount you need, squish the putty around until it's all homogenized and stick it on. 
I fixed some dime sized holes drilled in MickeyX's Savage muffler with four nickels and some JB weld, held great.

I fixed corrosion hole in the fuel tanks on my semi with it and a slab of aluminum, just have to be creative and let it get good and tacky before you place it.
