1965 CL77 low serial number
« on: April 23, 2010, 10:13:54 PM »
I picked up a cl77 in some weeds the other day nothing special really and it's a real junker.  However I noticed the serial number was 100471 which is really low since they start at 100000.  Any value to this bike maybe?  I mean does it have any value like low serial cb750 a la sandcast?  just wondering thanks.

Yes, that is one of the very first 305 Scramblers. I'm also doing a 1965 CL77, but mine is 9,000 units after yours. Parts are plenty and not expensive, so it should be easy to restore.

Your missing a digit......maybe a zero?  All models have 7-digit numbers beginning in 1964. Most of the parts for a '65 CL77 will interchange with the '65 CL72.
