Topic: Any HVAC people with TRANE knowledge out there?

5 year old TRANE XL14i heatpump.
Know the fan motor needs lubing as I have to bump it to start it going, but I never hear the compressor, and there is no cooling going on.
Contactor looks a little rough, board's lite port gives a steady blink of app. one a second, have some mouse damageto wires I am repairing.
Contactor? Capacitor? Or do I bite the bullet and get a tech out here on a holiday weekend to keep the wife happy? She is starting to sweat, and she does NOT do sweat!
I begin to fear for my life. Now the dog is acting nervous...she keeps whispering to him while looking at me.

My neighbor is the service manager at a Trane dealer. He is away this weekend for the holiday... Damn, bad timing dude.

I have to type quietly or she will hear...and pounce! I am about to make the call to the people who installed it. I was installed a week before We bought the place.
This is worse than when the cable/internet went out in the snow...if I don't survive, Glenn gets the 750's...

Damn... 30 minutes after I leave a message I got a guy at my door ready to fix my stuff!
$129 for the visit/diagnosis of a blown capacitor,
$143 for the capacitor
total time from phonecall to Wife enjoying AC again? 1 hour.
Well worth the $272!!


The Wife is now mad at me for making her out to be some kind of ogre. She's really not, I just like giving her #$%*.
