GL1000 front disc bolt patterns
« on: July 27, 2010, 03:14:39 PM »
Is there a difference in the bolt patterns of the GL1000 dual discs between the 75-76 and later wire wheel hubs?

I'm in the midst of gathering parts for the conversion of a CB750 to the dual discs and have not seen this specific question answered.  I've got almost everything from a 75 GL1000 except for the discs-- triple tree assembly, fork tubes, calipers and front wheel minus the discs.

An answer or direction to an info source?

75-76 gl front hubs are the same as a 750.

I have gleaned that from the search tool, but am wondering about the interchangeability of later models of the GL1000.  For example, does the 77-78 model range disc fit the 75-76?  I would assume that the Comstars are different, but would like to know about wire wheel compatibility.

The 75-76 Goldwing disks have the same six bolt pattern as the 750 models.  For 77 and up, Goldwing went to Comstars with the five bolt pattern.  So, in short, you will need to use the 75-76 disks for the wire wheels.
