There was thread about that, i think Bucky is and a few others. A chapter president lives around the corner from me. A very level headed group.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

lol...yeah....I guess, more specifically, if I could find a local chapter.  They aren't too active around here, which is weird given how large a percentage PA represents in the armed forces.  Of course, maybe people just know enough not to f*%& with our funerals.

I am as well mickeyx I joined today, I have not gone on a mission yet either. There is a mission in Ga. Burton I think gonna have to double check, but it is 3 hours away from me. But I have alota of family and friends who are in the armed forces. I support them 1000% as well as the cole miners. The recent cole minnig explosion hit close to home for us, my dad's sisters live in west virgina and one of my uncles was a minor that same company and knew all of them personally as he has worked with them before, He retired severals years ago, he was getting to old to be able to that job so for the saftey he retired. I guess now that was a mute point. And that church is gonna protest the funeral for those miners and it greatley upsets me, i have read on the patriot gaurd site that they were called to escort and protect the familes form the westbro nuts. I am gonna find the money somehow and I am gonna stay with my aunt and go on this mission. And show resepct for our cole miners as well. Alot of the cole miners were vets of some form of war.and they deservie to be burried with dignigty.

i'm a member, have been since 2006. whats it like to do a mission? it can really vary. the last all day mission i did was on september 11th 2008, for a marine, husband and new father and though this was no more or less important than any other mission we have done at the request of a family, it was without a doubt the most emotional by far. we escorted him from the airport to the funeral home, from the funeral home to the church then to the cemetary. his parents and widow carrying his baby son who he hadnt seen yet, came out to personally thank all of us for being there,m there wasnt a dry eye in the house among the flag bearers or anyone else for that matter. even now talking about it makes me tear up.

I am with you just reading it make me wanna cry. My cousin was MIA for a long time in Afganistan, The time my fav aunt passed away last year he was home, I was crying with joy and yet crying with greif all at same time, just to know he was home safely made my day even though I was at my fav aunts funeral, from the family line he has gotta go back to afganistan again for his 4th tour, And I am gonna pray everynight like I did before that he comes home safely to us again. These nuts just do not know what it's like for the families and they don't care, personally I would love to see one of thier kids come to thier sense's and join the millitary maybe then they will realize what the rest of us go thru from day to day. Or I will wounder if they will disown thier own child only God knows but with as tight knit as this nut job group is I highley doubt that any of the amred services will allow any one of these nut jobs will ever get in.

;D Well I am very excited, tommorow will be my first mission with the PGR. It is for an 86 year old man who served in vietname and of course everyone knows they never got a hero's welcome home, they dumped on by society, This gentalman and vet will finally get the respect from us fellow americans with the proper burial and send off. I am excited to be able to be a part of that. :D

Hey all went on my first mission today and like many have said it can be emotinal, and it was, just to see the mother the mother of the 86 year old vet. show up as frail as she was, it really was enought to make you cry there. and when taps started playing i was in tears, at the point of taps playing though, i was on side line because my dumb self was deydrated and couln't breath and was about to pass out so i ended up handing my flag off to the guy to the left of me for about 2 mins to i could put my head inbetween my knees before i passed out, part of it though was my heart condition acting up. These group of people are the best and they really do care for their vets and their own. MAN I LOVE THIS GROUP!! ;D I also got my first mission pin today, the was really cool!! now I gotta get a vest to proudly show it off  ;D a mission is like unthing I have every expericanced and I am PROUD TO SAY I AM A PATRIOT GUARD RIDER! AS THE SAYING GOES FOR GA. GEORGIA PATRIOD GUARD RIDER PART OF IT , PROUD OF IT!
