1974 cb550 cafe-tour on the Appalachian Trail

First off- is there a trail/road that we can take which follows the Appalachian trail from Mass. (Boston) area to Murfreesboro, Tennessee area?

Second- I've decided on what to do with my bike. I haven't seen many precedent photos- although I've been inspired by everything I see on this site and in general; I've decided to make a tourer in hopes to make a trip to my brother's place and follow the Appalachian trail in the process. I'd also study the architecture along the way, receiving credit towards my grad degree in architecture.

I'm looking at saddle bags now, and other ways to carry things on the horse. Front bags, tank bags, rear bags, back packs.... any other idea? Sidecar? Ha!

I put the tank after it ran like the hat on a son of a proud father...

My girlfriend got the four of us in a single shot in celebration of getting her running...

My stepmom down in Connecticut and the bear we had under our porch through the winter... had it tranquilized and removed by the man...

Just thought I should post more than tech questions...

Cheers!

sounds like a really fun trip! I hiked like 40% of the AT about a year ago, it was amazing. Just get a rack and a hiking backpack, pack the backpack like you were going to hike with it, then strap it to the rack and put a rain cover over it to protect it and keep all the staps from dangling.
