Front tire mounting question.
« on: April 30, 2010, 10:38:58 PM »
Is it OK if I replace my front tire myself or is this something I need to have done at a shop?  I have spokes so there is a tube involved.  Having done many MANY bicycle tires, I figure the theory is the same.

Would I be better off having some teenaged shop monkey at the local huge mega-sports mart do it or would it be the same if I did it?

Should I replace the tube also?

You can do it yourself. Be sure the rubber spoke protector is good and in place where it will rub on the tube. Clean out any bad rust on the rim. You should put in a new tube. Last, there is a yellow dot on the outside of the tire. You probably already know that goes by the air valve.

yeah, the same as a bicycle tyre, just more skin off your knuckles, learn some new swear words first if you have to ask this question.,and use a new tube.
