I have a confession to make.  I'm an ebay addict.  I just bought this 4 into 2 exhaust.

"I thought you didn't like 4 into 2, Digger?"

Looks like you need the 2 into one times two solution. two pipes on each side or one big pipe on each side. Perfect.

Thanks for the advice, but I am not a big fan of 2 into 1's on inline fours because they don't join companion cylinders.  In order to really reap the benefits of combining exhausts, you would need to combine 1&4 and 2&3.

The companion cylinders come together on this one!

I'm not ditching the CycleX exhaust; it's just going on a shelf for now.  Hopefully these pipes will give me the ground clearance needed.

Do you know what make those pipes are? I have the EXACT SAME ONES (kinda roached though). Not currently using them. They are cool though!

Digger - have you had that bike out yet?

Yeah, nothing more than 20 miles at a time.  Had to have it appraised for the titling process so rode it to a dealership for that, and then misc other short rides.  It is sweet as can be!

I've learned these are American Motorsport pipes.  I love them.  If you are interested in parting with yours, let me know.

Yeah they are cool! I wanted to know what they sound like because I bet they have a little bit of their own unique sound. I'm going to keep the ones I have and get them welded/patched up (they're kind of rough) and use them on my next project :)

If you can make a video of your bike! I'd love to hear it

One small step for the DMV, one giant leap for the Digger!

The DMV has approved my VIN/Title application and forwarded it to the Secretary of State Police to inspect the bike and assign a VIN!  I should be legal by the end of the month!

I will say, nobody at the DMV has been difficult to deal with.  You just have to have all your ducks in a perfect row... and THAT sometimes takes time.

Congratulations!!! I never thought you would ever be cosidered legal!! ;D ;D I had to take one to the Secretary os State Police on a trailer once to get the frame number instead of the engine number on the title. It went pretty smooth but they kept giving me that"Your A Bike Thief" look!!!!

I like the anti-pod so far!  I think I have some intake and exhaust leaks.  The intake boots were cracked and old so I have some new ones to put on after the tear-down for frame paint.  I didn't change exhaust gaskets with all the different pipes I tried, so they need to be replaced too.  Between the two of those problems, I have a hiccup every now and then, but I don't attribute that to the anti-pod at all.  I will give a thorough review after renewing these parts and doing an in-depth carb tune.

Today the Secretary of State Police inspected my bike and stamped a VIN on her neck!!!  She's legally a motorcycle now and I should receive the title in the mail in about 2 weeks!  Tear down for final paint and assembly will begin shortly.

Congrats!  But....now that it's legal tender, why not ride it for the last month of summer....then tear it down??

Congrats!  But....now that it's legal tender, why not ride it for the last month of summer....then tear it down??

A few reasons:

1)  Knowing I would be tearing it back down, I did not put Loctite everywhere I would have for final assembly.

2)  Prior to painting, I will be relocating the kickstand a little further forward, cutting off unused brackets, filling in unused holes, and molding the frame, all which needs to be done before the weather starts to cool so I can paint.

3)  My tach seal is leaking so the tank has to come off anyways.

4)  ... I've waited this long; let's make it perfect.

Just an update:

I have yet to tear the bike down.  Too many other projects have been placed before the bike.  However, I hope to begin shortly in order to have the bike back together before the summer arrives.

I did install a NHK steering dampener on the bike just for piece of mind.

How did it work with the steering dampner ?
Is it "harder" to turn ? any other differences   ?
Please ! Take a look and give me feedback in my project thread, its much needed :)

It's not harder to turn.  You do notice resistance if you try to "slam" the steering head one way or the other.  I put it on just as a precaution against the dreaded "speed wobble"... plus they just look cool ;)

Don't mean to be a tease.  Here you go!!!
What a mental build.  Love it.

You should have bought my Morris wheels, too - they went for a song and they would look amazing on there. ;)

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.
