I don't have a motorcycle, sold it ('85 Yamaha Venture Royale).  Haven't had a CB750 for over 40 years.

I talked about that to friend today.  My question is how do you restore something like that.  I am thinking it is not restorable for more than one reason. 

Who has got parts for that thing?
If you did use different or hand made parts, what does that actually do to the bike?
Would attempting to restore it actually devalue it?
I am sure the manual did not get found in the basement, lol
Break one stuck rusted bolt and ...

Not pokin' at ya, just throwing this out.  I would be interested to read what other members on the forum think.  Yanno, since there are plenty of restoring type people here.

There are definitely two mindsets when it comes to these sort of finds. More recently the trend has been to leave things as they were found, but I think if it was complete and could be made to run without destroying the patina it has undoubtedly collected, I would do that.

As far as parts availability, there are specialty shops that will do one off parts fabrication for antique cars, so parts for this bike could also be fabricated. I bet somebody has blueprints or manuals on one.

i for one would like to see it running again, ok it would loose some of its originality but it would be a motorcycle again rather than a static exhibit . as vtjunk said you can restore a bike sympathetically , no need to over do it
