$100 backyard find-750F3
« on: April 27, 2010, 10:55:06 PM »

I met this guy at the bank a few weeks ago, and I sadly didn't have the spare cash to get it. So I told a friend who wants to build a chopper about it and we picked it up tonight.

Looks like quite the project. Love the turn signal visors.

Another one! Where do you Americans keeping finding these barn bikes? The States must be full of old bikes waiting to be saved. Good luck to you. ^^

I met the guy at the bank! He had it for at least 7 years sitting in his backyard, and he had bought it from an old old black guy who lived out on a cotton plantation(hence the turn and headlight eyebrows...). You can find so much good stuff in this part of the country. Just about 6 weeks ago, I missed a 75 750F0 barn find with a supercharger on it. They only wanted $400!!!

I needed the right side one and of course it was nowhere to be found...the left one is there though it's got cracks.

I can get bikes for free by just driving 50 miles..........they are everywhere here in Southern California.

A lot of s. california bikes find their way over here to the UK via dealers and priced from around £800 for non runners with parts missing - and they get snapped up!

Corey has been tearing this thing down for the past few days...his boss at the machine shop said he could use anything up there if he just does it himself, so he's got 3 cnc mills to play with. Lucky bastard! He still isn't sure what kind of custom he's going to go for...he's leaning bobber I think but I'm going to push towards raking it out.

..... :'(

Arghhhh! I just have to put in my $.02 worth....

Have a look at http://www.cb750cafe.com/bikes.php?cat=3&id=13
for some other ideas before you bob or chop.

Totally subjective, I realize, but if it's not going back to dead stock, at least think about a cafe?  ;D

Good luck with whatever you decide  ;),

If he is going to chop and rake Supersport, that bike was better of in that back yard.

well there's no way it will go back to stock. Too many parts to source. It will take a while to get it down to the frame with all that rust on it, so he will decide for himself how he wants to rebuild it. His bike, his effort, his choice. I get most of the body and control stuff, so at least my bike will benefit and be a little more original.
