Degreeing cam need help
« on: April 30, 2010, 08:40:34 PM »
A friend was going to degree my cam for me but said he needs more info. I've got a Webcam 63a grind. He said he needs to know the lobe seperation, and what to intsall it at as far as degrees. Somewhere in the 100's maybe ? I could not find what he's looking for on the Webcam site. Any help appreciated.  Thanks

Webcams actual numbers never match the ones on their spec cards. Your best bet is to 'square up' the cam.

Why the hell does'nt Webcam provide the info IN THE BOX needed to properly degree this cam? I was going to try to get my motor back in this weekend and now this. Like I said a friend is trying to get this done for me but says he needs more info. This guy builds high end drag motors. He does not work on motorycyles that often. Are we missing something here?

Here's the link to the same problem I had.

http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=32821.0

My engine is in a long term project, so won't be running for some time yet.

I ended up at intake open at 22.5 BTDC close at 42.0 ABDC   Lobe centre 99.75
exhaust  open at 42.75 BBDC close at 25.75 ATDC   Lobe centre 98.5

Cam retarded 1.25deg.

If I've got it wrong, I'll find out when I run it ;D  The engine is not in the Frame yet so there's still time to mess with it.
