Need help with OLD Kawasaki
« on: April 19, 2006, 07:52:49 PM »
This old Kawasaki was in a old farmer's barn for years. He gave it to my brother who didn't really want it but...

Anyway, I need help with a couple of things. First, does anyone know what year (approx) and what model this might be? Second, we cannot find a VIN. Does anyone know where to look? Doesn't seem to be on the fork.

We thought we'd clean it up and put it on ebay as parts bike but we need a little more info first.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Need to see larger photos to be certain, but off-hand it looks to be a 1966 F1 (175cc / 2 stroke).

Engine number should start off with 10001-

Frame number should start off with F1-10001-

Looks to be definitly from 60's and 2 stroke.Sorry I don't have any idea where the #'s are on that bike but it sure looks like a fun project. I would find as much info as possible and try to get it running. It looks like it is pretty much complete.

That old it probably only has 11 digit 'vin' Not too sure about it but it may be stamped on frame between rear engine mounts (take off the sprocket cover) or on the right side above clutch cover ( there wasnt any standardisation back then)
