Of all God's creatures there is only one that cannot be made the slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve man, but it would deteriorate the cat.

No matter how large or small the tragedy there is always a buck to be made.

Not to mention, the soon to be, higher price at the pump to cover the cost of paying for the cleanup, legal fees, & lawsuits. The companies that create these environmental disasters never assume the financial responsibility for them, they just pass it on to us! >:( >:(

You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays everybody's crazy.

You've got to watch your back in the SSDB, this is where the clever guys get bored with bike talk and make poo jokes.
I like my women a little big. Natural. Now, they shave this and wax that. It's not right. I love natural women. Big women. This trend in women has to go. Bulomia, anorexia. That's just wrong. You know what will cure that? My special sticky buns. One lick of my sticky buns and your appetite will come right back. ~ RIP Mr. Borgnine  01/24/1917 - 07/08/2012  :'(

The jump in price will more than cover off all cleanup and legal fees. That is they will make more money be creating a disaster than not creating it. Exxon is doing better than ever since the Valdez incident. We pay all costs in high pump prices and they toss in extra for their "effort".

Since these extraction companies, unlike Goldman Sachs, don't create money out of thin air , yes we will all pay for this in the end.  Nothing new or really controversial there.  We are just as much a part of the problem with our insatiable demand for cheap oil.
I was watching the talking heads this morning and what I found interesting is how the conservative point was this was all governments fault.  They seem to want it both ways.  Less regulation and oversight but it's government's fault when something fails.  This is completely the fault of big business capitalism putting profits above all else just the same as the recent coal mining disaster.  Conservatives demand government regulate less and this is what you get.  Free market capitalism unfettered cutting corners for profit.
While it is always a spectacle to see the lawyers circling like sharks and sadly they will profit the most there has to be some accountability and compensation for the individuals/small business operators who's livelyhood will be impacted or ruined by this big business fiasco.
