can you make it till fall? if you have the discipline to do it in a weekend then go ahead if not..... DONT DO IT!!!...... i had a bike builder tell me never give up your ride... you have 5 months to paint in the winter........ and last thought could you do a somewhat satifactory pain job with it in the frame to hold you over to fall?

Is this your only ride?
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

Do you have a warm place to paint in cold weather?  Most paints do best in room temp conditions.  I've painted in 40 degree weather with horrible results.  Something to consider.

dont do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wait till riding season is over then build you a "room" from some big tarps, put the engine into that "room" with a couple of space heaters and maybe even a heatlamp poting at the motor, wait a couple of hours turn the heaters and lap off! then paint, wait till fumes dissipate then turn the heaters and lamp back on. thats how i painted my 750's frame, tank and side covers in january.

What you need is another project....check out Craigslist, find a decent cheap one and spend the summer building it while you ride your current one...
